As an Adult Educator for the past 14 years, I am highly skilled in group facilitation, face-to-face training, student advising and curriculum development. I recognize and value collaborative learning and community building as I am grounded in the belief that learning is a deeply relational endeavor.
In my previous role as a College Professor for the past 7 years I have taught various courses in Psychology, Teacher Development, Personal & Career Development, Group Process, Public Speaking and Curriculum Development. I take a learner-centered approach to teaching and learning, and view my role inside & outside of the classroom as a motivator, encourager and supporter of the various opportunities and possibilities of learning. Currently, I work as a Curriculum Specialist, with the Office of Academic Excellence at George Brown College. I work collaboratively with faculty colleagues providing support for academic programs and individual faculty, related to best practices in outcomes-based learning, course design, curriculum mapping, course outlines, teaching and learning plans and assessment strategies. Working within Higher Education and understanding the importance of the work that takes place in our institution, I help to support a collaborative workplace culture that advances the professional learning of others. |
"My professional philosophy is reflected in what I do, not only within the classroom, but also within the college community as a whole. My strengths lie in the collaborative, dedicated, reflective and passionate work I engage in everyday to foster meaningful connections with faculty and support successful student learning"
